It as as if none of my NVidia cards were working. I managed to find "terminal" but nvidia-settings did not run. When I clicked on the bottom left were an icon was all the gnome apps showed up on the screen. Clicking on the display did not bring up the terminal option. It was not like anything I had seen before. When I selected Gnome I managed to log in but the display was empty. Ubuntu was the one that did not like my password. Something with gnome, dont remember exactly I click on some icon under the password prompt and got the following 4 options (I did not take a picture) I hit CTRL-SHIFT-F1 and the burnt orange screen appeared after a few minute but my password was not accepted. When the system came back up after the bad shutdown the monitor was black. Maybe one of the Linux guru's here can explain what happened and how to avoid it. Neither Edge, Firefox nor Chrome work AFAICT. If you do not have a smartphone then use IE11 to control the camera. If you don't select static IP then you got to go through the same setup the next time the power fails. I had to disable the 5ghz signal at the router before the iPhone connected to the camera. If the router uses 5 and 2.4 even with same password the iPhone will always use 5. The Apple iPhone cannot be forced to 2.4ghz. WiFi cameras like Amcrest are inexpensive "made-in-china" like most, and use 2.4ghz What I found that is not included or explained properly in the Wi-Fi setup: I can use my iPhone's Amcrest View App, Microsoft's IE11 or BlueIris to control them. I have 7 Amcrest that are wired and one, my critter cam, that I kept Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi cameras can be a challenge to setup but are worth the effort.
